# Setting up I3 on Raspbian

Start with Raspbian Lite.

## Install basic surival packages.

```bash
sudo apt-get install lightdm i3 tilix
```

## Boot into i3

```bash
sudo raspi-config
```

+ System?
+ Boot Options
+ Desktop / CLI
+ Choose boot to user.
+ Reboot

## Configuring i3wm

```
vim ~/.config/i3/config
```

## Notes

- lightdm - allows booting directly to desktop
- tilix is literally any terminal other than the blinding default. It has a dark mode theme.
